Peer Parayi Jaane Re has been specially conceptualised as a tribute to Bapu. Gandhiji shared the pain of others and was always ready to mitigate the hurt no matter at what personal cost, hence the title of the presentation.
In this performance we spread Gandhi’s message through poetry and music. The beauty of India’s pluralism is reflected here in the conflation of Hindi-Urdu, Nazm Kavita and Ghazal. Its unique feature is a medley of the Kalaam of poets like, Faiz, Seemab Akbarabadi, Vamiq Jaunpuri,Tilok Chand Mehrum, Shameem Karhani, Kavi Pradip and Ali Sardar Jafri. The performance is crowned with masters like Kabir, Bulle Shah and Amir Khursrau. Hence the flow of languages- Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, Braj Bhasha, Khariboli. This mosaic reflects Gandhi’s dream where many cultures co-exist and embrace each other.
The performance will be presented by Humari Urdu Mohabbat (HUM) which is a Delhi based group conceptualised by Begum Zakia Zaheer with the objective of converging Urdu lovers in a literary forum. Hindi, as Gandhi said, is integral to Urdu as Urdu is integral to Hindi.
The performance will take place in the evening of 1st March, 2020 in the presence of the delegates of the seminar as well as invited guests from the town.
